Honeymoon stay at Teetotum

The resort is in the northern end of Tulum’s busy middle district, and even though it’s on a rather busy street when you’re at the resort that the place feels silent. (It is on the road that heads east to the shores, right onto a bicycle route, and Teetotum permits you to borrow bicycles at no price!).

We had a problem using our shower draining the very first night, but once we informed the proprietor, he had it mended the next morning. The proprietor was also receptive to emails leading up to the cozumel reef restoration excursion, which was useful for preparation!

The proprietor and people working in the restaurant/bar supplied a great deal of information about trips, other restaurants, and also what to anticipate for prices – flights, buses, cenotes, mezcal. The resort is situated more or less across the road from the large grocery shop Super Chedraui, that was excellent for getting lower-cost meals and beverages for lunches and breakfast on the move.

Nevertheless, the meals at Teetotum was terrific – we had a couple of dishes there. We’re happy with our stay. Thank you, Richard, for all your blunt and straightforward advice!

We did not decide to visit Tulum until quite a last-minute and discovered that many areas on the shore were either reserved, too pricey, or had poor reviews. We had been initially somewhat bummed but chose to reserve at Teetotum after reading the rave reviews.

We weren’t disappointed! We had the best time. The place is excellent as it is walking distance to town and a bicycle ride from the shore. We walked to the beach several times, and it was possible but did require a small bit of time. We’re three female travelers, and we all felt safe the whole time! We walked everywhere throughout the day and during the night. The team in Teetotum couldn’t be more helpful or more welcoming.

They ordered taxi rides for us, helped us determine our NYE strategies, created terrific cocktails, and gave us recommendations about where to eat, etc. Seriously a phenomenal location. I expect to keep here again one day!
