Perfection achieved

I want to preface this by stating that I’m a city girl – that I live in the city, work in town, etc.. However, for this trip, I wished to locate a location that has been away from the beaten path rather than a large resort. I encounter Suenos while looking at TripAdvisor, and I am quite happy that I chose this hotel. It was what I desired.

Relaxing, tucked away, on the beach, lovely surroundings, peaceful, rocky, but still manicured enough this city girl didn’t feel like a fish out of water. I stayed in the Master Suite and loved with a hammock in my area – and the mattress was so comfy as well. I didn’t feel at all uneasy even though it was the hottest period of the year since the ocean breeze and dipped in the sea was quite cooling. Additionally, having aircon just in the evenings wasn’t a problem.

The men and women who run the area are incredible – they recommended the best shore snorkeling cozumel tours. They were meticulous about my stay, and every recommendation they made was absolutely on stage and what I was searching for.

We spent two weeks in Sueños over Christmas and New Year’s. The hotel is family-owned and offers a personable, romantic experience with cozy eco-friendly cottages (only air-con involving 8 p.m-8 a.m., recycle bins for all behind the reception, solar panels to heat the water, etc.), amiable staff and the best chicken tacos!

There are just 14 rooms, and it’s located in the quieter end of Tulum Beach — ideal for non-clubbing Tulum visitors. Both boys (age 7 and 9) ran freely around on the closed-in premises and played together with all the owner’s dogs, or watched the staff prepare delicious dishes and beverages in the half-open kitchen.

The private beach was kept nice and clean at all times. The resort also had an arrangement with a competent cab driver who took us on an exciting all-day trip to Chichen Itzá, Valladolid and also a beautiful cenote (freshwater cave). All in all, we had two weeks and highly recommended this place for anyone wanting to end up, forget what day it is and relax completely.

We had five nights at Sueños in July. Loved everything about it, a fantastic beach, friendly, courteous staff, delicious food, and beverages. The sea was lovely and warm and great for swimming. There were a few sargassum, but it was removed regularly and did not cause a problem. Had a pleasant trip to a cenote, which the hotel helped us organize and a delicious ceviche lunch on the back at a beautiful bay nearby. Slept well!
